Clubs

Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI) offers a variety of extracurricular clubs that span many interests and subjects. Many of our students comment that clubs are a great way to meet new people, especially students from other grades. RCI encourages students to join a club and share their talents. You can also visit performing arts for more of our extracurricular clubs.

Interact Club

The Interact Club is a school club that partners with the Rotary Club to make a difference in the local and international community.  It is a great way for students to develop friendships and leadership skills while having fun.

International Cause:  This year the club is continuing to fund raise for Free the Children Brick by Brick Campaign by building a school in Africa.  Our goal is $10,000 which is the cost of a school in Africa.  Presently, we have raised $7,700.00.

Local Cause:  Our local cause is to raise funds for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital.

We are Rafikis:  Me to We Rafikis will be on sale outside the Main Office at lunch.  They will be sold for $10.00 and there are many different colours and initiatives to choose from!  By purchasing a raiki bracelet you are unlocking a lifetime of change for a mama, her child and their community.  You are also supporting Free the Children Brick by Brick campaign.

Cookbook:  The RCI Interact Club is creating a cookbook to raise money for Renfrew Victoria Hospital.  We are asking you to send in recipes to rci.interact@gmail.com to make this cookbook possible.  Thank you for your help towards a great cause!

Hallowe'en Bake Sales:  We are having a Hallowe'en Bake Sale on Thursday, October 30th and Friday, October 31st outside the cafeteria.  There will be tons of delicious baked goods to purchase. Baking donations are welcome from anyone who wishes to support the Free the Children School in Africa.

24-Hour Famine:  This year the Famine will be held on November 7th and 8th.  We will be fasting for 24 hours, starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday and ending at 7:00 a.m. the next day.  The participating students are able to leave after school.  At 7:00 p.m., we will meet at RCI for the sleepover.  There will be many fun activities organized by the Interact Club.  This year all the proceeds will be going towards the Free the Children Brick by Brick Campaign to supply children with a much-needed education by building a school in Africa.

Snowsuit Drive:  We are presently collecting gently used winter clothes at RCI.  The winter clothes are donated to CPAN.  This is a wonderful way to allow our local children to enjoy playing outside in our cold Canadian temperatures.  Gently-used winter clothes can be dropped off at the Office.  Thank you for helping out.

Upcoming Events:  Sports Buy-ins (end of November/beginning of March), Cake Walk (December), Angel Tree (December), Art Auction (December), We Day (April) and Garage Sale (April).
