Season Report

Game 1:

April 30, 12:00: at home against the 1and 0 SJHS Jaguars (who had previously beaten Opeongo 1-0): final score 3-3. St. Joseph's scored at the 18 minute mark, again 4 minutes later on a M. Vice penalty shot, and then two minutes later.

Down 3-nil we spent half-time remembering we are a good soccer team, and began the second half with more possession and some pressure.  It paid off with an Austin Scheuneman penalty shot just 9 minutes in.  We battled hard the rest of the way, and at the 28 minute mark Phil Kadlec notched his first of the season.  The Jaguars stirred, and came back with some more attack, but RCI would not be denied.  With just a minute or two left we earned a free kick outside the St. Joe's box, and Scheuneman drove it home for his second of the game.

Not a great start, but a great second half, and we came away with a 3-3 draw.  The defence are starting to figure it out, the mid are starting to get their fitness, and the forwards have been scoring... and keeper Billy Karras again made some excellent key saves.
