Every Child Matters
Every Child Matters

On September 30th of every year, we pause to remember and honour. The last day in September signifies the time of year when Indigenous children were historically taken from their homes and sent to residential schools across the country.

We wear orange to declare that 'Every Child Matters'.

Today also marks the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. During this time, we honour the thousands of victims and survivors who attended the Indian Residential Schools in Canada between the mid-1800s until the last school finally closed in 1996. We also collectively commit to come together in the spirit of reconciliation.

We acknowledge the intergenerational trauma caused by this system and the impacts felt today by communities across the land.
