Our library is a resource learning centre providing students with academic resources, reference materials, books, eBooks and online databases to augment their curriculum studies. Our school's librarian technician is also available to assist students with their research and technical needs.

General Reference (Encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.)
- Answers.com - the ultimate answer engine with a dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, bios, tech terms, news, sports, weather, and more.
- Encyclopedia.com - search and browse 57 000 articles from the Columbia Encyclopedia.
- Grolier Online - searches seven curriculum-aligned individual encyclopedias (username and password required).
- Merriam-Webster - provides a free online dictionary, thesaurus, audio pronunciations, word of the day, word games, and other English language resources.
- Wikipedia - a multilingual, free content encyclopedia project, written collaboratively by volunteers from around the world. Students are advised to check references cited on this page.
- YourDictionary - a free online dictionary and thesaurus with definitions, a thesaurus and more.
Databases and eBooks

- Canadian Points of View EBSCO - a full-text database providing students with essays that present multiple sides of a current issue.
- EBSCO Database - browse hundreds of online research databases covering all academic subjects.
- Eureka/Cedrom - Francophone resources are available including national/international newspapers, news wires and radio/television transcripts. French-language titles are bundled with 20 English-language daily newspapers from across Ontario.
- InfoTrac - Student Edition - full text articles and reference materials:
- Academic Online - peer-reviewed, full-text articles from the world's leading journals and reference sources with coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects.
- Canadian Periodical Index Quarterly (CPLQ) - emphasis is on Canada, its people, and its history. Aligned to provincial learning standards, the database includes reference, periodicals, primary source, multimedia resources and nearly one thousand biographies on famous Canadians.
- Discovering Collection - full-text essays, multimedia and references for the arts, geography, and history.
- Expanded Academic ASAP - from arts and the humanities to social sciences, science and technology, this database meets research needs across all academic disciplines.
- LegalTrac - a wide variety of legal publications including major law reviews, legal newspapers, bar association journals and international legal journals.
- Teen Health and Wellness - provides curricular support and self-help on diseases, drugs and alcohol, nutrition, mental and emotional health, cyber-literacy, family life, sexuality and more.

- Yahoo Directory - a free, searchable directory service separate from Yahoo's search engine results.

- Ask - a meta search engine which provides results in response to simple question phrases.
- Dogpile - a meta search engine with all the best search engines piled into one.
- Google - a popular search engine for finding resources on the World Wide Web as well as web page language translation.
- Topix.net - news on 360,000 topics.
- Yahoo.ca - a combination search engine and search index to information on the World Wide Web.
Subject Specific Sources
The InfoTrac - Student Edition - full text articles and reference materials. The below listed sections can be accessed from within InfoTrac with proper ID. Please contact the library technician for login details where required.
- Computer Database - computer-related product introductions, news and reviews for hardware, software, electronics, engineering, communications and the application of technology.
- Culinary Arts Collection - 150 of the major cooking and nutrition magazines, thousands of searchable recipes, restaurant reviews, and industry information.
- Environmental Studies and Policy - nearly 200 journals with multiple perspectives from the scientific community, governmental policy makers, as well as corporate interests.
- Health and Wellness Resource Centre - provides a set of carefully compiled and trusted medical reference materials including 400 health/medical journals, over 700 health videos from Healthology Inc., pamphlets, articles and a broad collection of Thomson Gale reference titles.
- Military and Intelligence Database - a custom collection of over 400 journals covering the socioeconomic effects of war, governmental policies, the armed forces, and more.
- Psychology Collection - a 200 subject, full-text periodical collection that gives individuals an understanding of the study of the mind, emotions and how the human mind develops and diminishes over time.
- Religion and Philosophy Collection - over 200 magazines and academic journals covering religion, philosophy, archaeology and anthropology.
