RCIS DI Teams Advance to Global Finals in Tennessee

Posted on Tuesday May 02, 2017

RCIS’ Grade 8 Destination Imagination Teams are at again!

Members of the RCIS qualifying team members Chris Cayen, Jon Roach, Carson Lefebvre, Kenya Stevenson, Hannah Hubert, Mallory Delarge, Olivia Smart, Alex Wroe, Cassidy Friske and Malorey Lambert hit the streets this past Friday to rally support, donations and sponsors for their trip to Tennessee to compete at Global Finals.

Placing in the top two positions at Provincials has qualified these two teams to continue on to Global Finals where they will compete against teams from all around the world. This is an incredibly exciting venture that gives these students a chance to demonstrate their problem solving skills and growth over the last 6 months. They have been working hard to raise funds and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. This past weekend they spoke to business owners on the main street and shared their adventures while asking for donations from customers at Walmart. They will be present at the Downtown Garage Sale this Saturday and Melissa Friske is hosting a Jazz Dance Workshop on Sunday May 7th at the Recreation Centre from 6-8 pm in support of DI, $20 payable at the door. You can also support our students by making donations on line at https://rcdsb.schoolcashonline.com.   Simply choose the items tab, look for RCIS DI, and choose to donate (you do not have to register to a specific child).  Thank you to everyone for their support thus far!! We’ll keep you updated as the adventure continues!
